How to price gutter cleaning
A gutter cleaning price starts from one of two things: the house or the length of gutter. By the house, you keep one price for a one-story home, one for two stories and one for three, and add for what makes a job longer. By the foot, you add up the runs of gutter and multiply by your price per foot. Both are in the calculator above. Use the one you can quote from the ground.
Gutter cleaning price per foot
A price per linear foot follows the amount of gutter, not the size of the house. To get the length, walk around the house and add up the run along each edge of the roof that has a gutter; count the downspouts while you are there. Some gutter cleaners keep a second, higher price per foot for upper-story runs; others add a set amount for the height. Whichever you choose, write the feet and the price per foot on the estimate, so the customer can see where the total came from.
What adds to the price
A steep roof, gutters that have not been cleaned in a long time, and guards that have to come off and go back on all make the same house a longer job. Keep each as its own line with its own amount. The customer sees what the extra is for, and the next visit, when the gutters are not overdue, costs what your list says. Downspouts are their own line too, priced each.
Quoting a house you have not seen
Ask for the address, the number of stories and when the gutters were last cleaned. Give a price for what was described and say it holds if the house is as described. If you arrive and find guards nobody mentioned or a downspout packed solid, show the customer, add the line, and get a yes before you do the work.
Cleaning, repairs and installs on one list
